Here is a classical example of stakeholder management. As per PMBOK, a stakeholder is anyone who is affected positively or negatively by doing a project, or by not doing a project. Our competitors are definitely a high power, high interest stakeholder in our projects. If not taken care of proactively, they can impact your projects heavily. By buying Yahoo, Microsoft may achieve two objectives;
- a) Kill yahoo first
- b) Then manage google :-)
My personal view.
