EAC 5 71

Analysis

ETC - estimate to complete refers to the balance effort required to
complete the remaining activities in the project, hence it does not
reflect the projected total cost of the project, when it gets over.

CPI - stands for cost performance index (CPI = earned value / actual
cost). It just gives the return on investment. A CPI of .75 indicates
that for every rupee spent in the project, we are getting .75 rupee
worth of work (earned). This gives an indication of the value earned
so far for every rupee invested and at the same time do not give the
forecast of 'how much the project will cost when it is completed'.

SPI - Indicates the schedule progress (earned value / planned value)

EAC - Estimate at completion AC+(BAC-EV)/CPI is the true measure of
how much the project will cost, when it gets over, if the conditions
remain the same.

Have a great day
